The guitar that has served me best in every situation (acoustic, stage & recording) is a 1987 Lakewood D-14. Other guitars have always missed something (e.g. a 1992 Martin doesn't hold its tuning as well, a 2009 Taylor doesn't have a great plugged-in sound). So this guitar is an "update", to replace a battered old friend. And to spoil myself with a beautiful and beautiful-sounding instrument with the classic wood combination I've wanted for years - cedar and rosewood.
